How to choose Organic Produce

Buying Organic
Pesticides have been building up in our liver, adipose (fat), and body tissues for decades.  They make it easier for us to get sick and allergic to all sorts of things.  They age us faster and increase the chronic diseases of age.  (It is possible to cleanse old toxins from the body – many resources available.)
The lists below were published in Nutrition Action Healthletter  by the Center for Science in the Public Interest (July-Aug 2007).

Dirty Dozen – 70-90% had pesticides even after washing with soap:
peaches
apples
bell peppers
celery
nectarines
strawberries
cherries
pears
imported grapes
spinach
lettuce
potatoes
Choose the organic version of everything on the above list.
Organic produce,
at a cost of 10 cents to 70 cents more per pound, is worth its weight in gold 😉  If you buy non-organic produce, it’s best to choose from the lists below.

Fairly Consistently Clean – usually less than 30% of these had pesticides:
papaya
broccoli
cabbage
bananas
kiwi
frozen sweet peas

Cleanest of the Clean – less than 10% tested had any pesticides:
asparagus
mango
pineapple
frozen sweet corn
avocado
onions

Enjoy –
